上海城隍庙坐落于上海市最为繁华的城隍庙旅游区，是上海地区重要的道教宫观，始建于明代永乐年间，距今已有近六百年的历史。
YuGardenwasoriginallyaprivategardenintheMingDynasty.ItwasbuiltintheMingDynasty.Ithasahistoryofmorethanfourhundredyearsasof20__.
Panyunduan,thegovernorofSichuanProvince,builtagardenonseveralvegetablefieldsinthewestofshichuntang,thepanfamily'sresidence,since1559.Aftermorethantwentyyearsofpainstakingefforts,YuGardenhasbeenbuilt."Yu"hasthemeaningof"peace"and"Antai".Itisnamed"YuGarden"andhasthemeaningof"Yuyueoldrelatives".
Atthattime,theYuGardenwasover70acres,designedbyZhangNanyang,afamousgardenerinMingDynasty,andpersonallyinvolvedintheconstruction.TheancientspraisedYuGarden"QiXiuJiainSoutheast"and"southeastfamousgardencrown".
Panyunduan'sfamilydeclinedinhislateryears.Panyunduandiedin1620__(the29thyearofWanliintheMingDynasty),andhisfamilygraduallydeclined,unabletobearthehugeexpensesofgardenrepairandmanagement.AttheendoftheMingDynasty,YuGardenwasmadeforZhangZhaolin.Fromthento1760(twenty-fiveyearsofQianlongemperor),inordernottoannihilatethisscenicspot,somelocalgentrymerchantsgatheredmoneytobuyYuGarden,andspentmorethantwentyyearstorebuildtheterraceandbuildthemountainstone.Atthattime,theEastGardeninTownGod'sTemplewasEast,thatis,today'sinnergarden,andtheYuGardenwasslightlyWest.
In1842,twenty-twoyearsago,thefirstOpiumWarbrokeout,andforeigninvadersinvadedShanghai.TheBritisharmytookovertheYuGardenandravagedit.In1853,inresponsetotheTaipingRevolution,ShanghaiXiaodaoSocietylaunchedanuprisinginShanghai.Aftertheuprisingfailed,theQingsoldiersburnedandlootedinthecity,andtheYuGardenwasseverelydamaged.Thebuildingssuchasthespringhall,thefragrantsnowhall,theosmanthusflowerhall,themoonhouseandsoonwereallonfire.
In1860(tenyearsofQingXianfeng),theTaipingArmymarchedintoShanghai.TheManchugovernmentcolludedwiththeBritishandFrenchinvaders,tookTownGod'sTempleandYuGardenasagarrisonoutsidethearmy,excavatedstonesandfilledpoolsinthegarden,andbuiltwesternstylemilitaryhouses.
After1875,thewholegardenwasdividedintomorethan20industrialandcommercialindustriesinShanghai,suchasbeanandriceindustry,sugarindustry,clothindustryandsoon.Ontheeveofliberation,theYuGardenpavilionsweredilapidated,therockerycollapsed,thepooldriedup,thetreeswithered,andtheoldlandscapesweregraduallyannihilated.
