北固山，镇江三山名胜之一，远眺北固，横枕大江，石壁嵯峨，山势险固，因此得名北固山。三国时“甘露寺刘备招亲”的故事就发生在北固山。
BeigumountainislocatedinZhenjiang,JiangsuProvince.ItisclosetotheYangtzeRiverinthenorth,soitisnamedBeigu.Itis55.2metershighand200meterslong.Themountainissteep,andthesituationisdangerousandsolid.EmperorLiangWuoftheSouthernDynastyoncewroteabooktopraiseitsvictory.Ganlutemple,locatedonthetopofthemountain,wasbuiltintheGanluperiodoftheeasternWuDynasty.TherearemanylegendsandrelicsabouttheWustateintheThreeKingdomsperiod.Atthispoint,visitorscan'thelplookingforthefamousplacesandlegendswiththestoryofLiuBei'srecruitmentasaclue.Beigumountain,JinshanmountainandJiaoshanmountainhavebecomehorns.Thethreemountainsstandinthebalance.BeigumountainismoremajesticanddangerousincontrollingChuandWu.InordertoresisttheJapanesegarrison,theprefectsofMingDynastycutoffthefrontpeakandthemiddlepeak.
Beigumountainiscomposedoffrontpeak,middlepeakandbackpeak.Themainpeakisbackpeak,whichisthebestscenicspot.TheformerQianfengisthesiteoftheancientpalacesoftheeasternWuDynasty,whichhasbeenturnedintoZhenjiangmartyrs'cemetery;theformermeteorologicalbuildingonZhongfengisnowchangedintoatraditionalChinesepaintingMuseum;thelatteristhemainpeakofBeigumountain,facingtheYangtzeRiver(YangtzeRiver)inthenorth,withthreecliffsandsteepterrain.Themountainisfulloftreesandmanyplacesofinterestareonit.Knownas"thebestRiverandmountainintheworld".HoufengisthemainpeakofBeigumountain,facingtheYangtzeRiverandlyingonthewater.Itisthebestplaceforscenery.
FromthesouthernfootofthemiddlepeakofBeigumountain,climbthemountain,passtheweatherstation,andgonorthwardalongtheridgetoQinghuiPavilion.Thereisanirontowerintheeastofthepavilion,whichwasbuiltbyLiDeyu,theDukeofWeiofTangDynasty,inthefirstyearofBaoli(825).Itwasoriginallyastonetower,butlateritwasdestroyed.InthefirstyearofYuanfengintheNorthernSongDynasty(1078),itwasrebuiltintoaninelevelirontowerwithaplaneandoctagonalshape.IntheMingDynasty,itwasrebuilttosevenlevels,about13metershigh.Afterthetsunami,lightning,warandotherdisasters,onlytwofloorsofthetowerremainedin1949.Nowithasbeenrenovatedintofourfloors,about8metershigh.ThetowerbaseandthefirstandsecondfloorsaretheoriginalobjectsoftheSongDynasty.Thethirdandfourthfloorsarethefifthandsixthfloorsoftheoriginaltower,whichwerecastintheMingDynasty.Theexistingtowerbaseandbodyhaveexquisitepatterns,uniqueshape,vivid.
Intheeastofduojinglou,lingyuntingisalsocalledJijiangPavilion.ItissaidthatsunShangxiang,Liu'swife,oncesacrificedherselfintheriverafterhearingthenewsofLiuBei'sdeath.WhenXinQiji,apatrioticpoetoftheSouthernSongDynasty,ascendedthepavilion,hetouchedthescenewithemotion,andwroteafamousarticle:"wheretolookatChina,withafullviewofBeigubuilding.".Theriseandfalloftheagesarelong.TheYangtzeRiverisrolling.Asayoungman,thesoutheastwarisnotover.Whoistheenemyoftheheroesintheworld,CaoLiu.HavingchildrenshouldbelikesunZhongmou."
